About Me

Greetings!

I welcome you to follow me through the journey of attaining my career goals in a field where I will make it possible for others to find self love in their smiles.

My name is Michelle and I am from Westchester, New York.  I am only 20 minutes away from the best and brightest city in the world; it’s safe to say that my dreams to succeed have always been as grand as the bright lights of New York City.

Children are often asked what it is they want to do when they grow up, and as you get older, that question provokes more pensiveness. It has been innate for me to work in the healthcare profession, as giving back and helping others has always transpired a sense of peace and delight. Straight out of high-school, I believed nursing would suite me best. The idea of helping others in an emergency room and “saving” lives sounded gratifying and fulfilling. Although I still believe nursing upholds this virtue, I learned, after personal experience, that it was not the profession for me; to constantly see others perish would make me lose my sanity! It was then, when I began to pursue other professions where I can provide patient care, but not vest myself emotionally. After a few shadowing experiences, I knew without hesitation that dental hygiene was a career I would pursue with fortitude.

Subsequently, I am a year into my dental hygiene program at Fones School of Dental Hygiene and I have decided to take on the opportunity of obtaining an internship for the summer. After navigating around, I came across Guerrino Dentistry. Dr. Paul Guerrino is a titleholder of four practices throughout Westchester and I have secured my internship at one of the facilities (Mt. Vernon) where the population is underserviced and reasonable prices/plans are offered to accommodate the demographics in this city. As for me, I will be assisting the dental hygienist at this office and helping out as much as possible. I will be breaking down and re-setting the operatory for each patient and I will be greeting each patient and getting them prepped for their appointment. I hope to attain comprehension with various tasks other than the clinicians, for instance, helping at the front desk and scheduling appointments.

I am so excited to see where this experience will lead me and I am happy you will be here for the ride!
